On November 21, 2008 the Yale Center for Customer Insights (YCCI) and the Yale Marketing Club presented our annual Marketing Conference. This year's topic focused on Luxury Marketing.
Luxury brands transcend time and geography. They add style and beauty to our lives. They define some of our greatest moments, and represent our deepest aspirations and dreams. And yet, in an increasingly global society, devoid of boundaries and full of imitation, their relevance to us changes over time. Today's luxury brands are no longer reserved for society's elite. More and more shoppers are willing to pay a premium for the cachet that accompanies a luxury product and designers, retailers, and brands must determine how to maintain their prestige.
Our conference featured keynote speeches from:
Maureen Chiquet, Global CEO, Chanel
Frederic deNarp, CEO, Cartier North America
Dana Gers, Senior Vice President Marketing, Ferragamo
Dana Thomas, European Editor, Portfolio magazine and author of Deluxe: How Luxury Lost Its Luster.
This conference was attended by executives, business strategists & consultants, marketing & branding professionals, academics, and Yale University students, including MBA’s from Yale School of Management.
